Introduction

Name

  • Lufenuron: a benzoylurea insecticide, a dichlorobenzene, a N-acylurea, an aromatic ether and an organofluorine compound.

Class of drug

  • Larvicidal benzylphenyl urea derivative.
  • Also has an additional antifungal action. Specific doses for dermatophytosis treatment have not currently been established.

Chemical name

  • N-(2,5-dichloro-4-(1,1,2,3,3,3-hexafluoropropoxy)phenylaminocarbonyl)-2,6-difluorobenzamide.

  • C17H8Cl2F8N2O3.

  • 511.1 g/mol.

  • Tablets.
  • Aqueous suspension.

Storage requirements

  • In a dry environment (<25°C/77°F).
  • Protect from light.

Interactions

with other drugs

  • Lufenuron is compatible with other flea control products.
  • Insecticides which kill adult fleas will be required if there is an initial heavy infestation.
