  • Cause: inflammation, abscessation, neoplasia, outflow obstruction, cysts, hematoma, congestion, hyperplasia.
  • Signs: related to pathology in specific organs or effect of size of organs causing discomfort or reduced mobility.
  • Diagnosis: radiography, ultrasonography, advanced imaging (CT or preferably MRI), exploratory laparotomy.
  • Treatment: depends on cause.
  • Prognosis: depends on cause.
