Introduction

  • The aim of fluid therapy during hypovolemic shock is to rehydrate the gastrointestinal material, increase blood volume and/or provide cardiovascular stabilization.
  • Fluid administration during anesthesia helps supports the circulation.
  • All fluids need to be warmed prior to administration and kept warm if infusion time is prolonged.
