Introduction

  • With advances in endoscopy over the last few years, it is now being recognized as a useful diagnostic tool in the rabbit.
  • There has been further advancement in human endoscopy in recent years with the use of video capsule endoscopy with a publication on its use in dogs.
  • The majority of pet rabbits are small making the ideal candidates for minimally invasive diagnostic and surgical endoscopy.
  • The most common endoscopic procedures performed in rabbits are stomatoscopy, rhinoscopy Rhinoscopy, otoscopy, cystoscopy, tracheoscopy, including endotracheal intubation Endotracheal intubation and laparoscopy Laparoscopy.
