Indications

  • Serious systemic mycoses, eg cryptococcosis Cryptococcosis, histoplasmosis and blastomycosis.
  • Fungal septicemia.
  • Fungal urinary tract infections.
  • Candida Candida albicans (rare in cats) is particularly susceptible to this agent.

Interactions

with other drugs

  • Amphotericin may increase the toxic effects of cisplatin, fluorouracil, doxorubicin and methotrexate.
  • Flucytocine Flucytosine is synergistic with amphotericin B in vitro versus candida Candida albicanscryptococcus Cryptococcosis and aspergillosis Aspergillosis.
