General information

• One of the earliest recognized UK breeds, developed from shorthaired non-pedigree cats.
• Shorthairs have been awarded Championship status, with the exception of lilac self (Provisional from June 1998), chocolate, red self and chocolate and lilac tabbies (Preliminary status).
• A sturdy, independent breed with a quiet voice.
• Needs regular grooming.
