Interactions

With other drugs

  • Increases serum concentrations of digoxin and diltiazem.
  • Enhanced efficacy may be seen if combined with mexiletine.
  • May interact with quinidine and procainamide.

With diagnostic tests

  • Thyroid function tests: amiodarone is an iodine-containing compound and alters thyroid function.
