Introduction

• Cause: direct trauma, eg hitting fences, kick; injury may be confined to the tibial tuberosity or progress to involve the crest.
• Signs: acute severe lameness   Musculoskeletal: gait evaluation  , soft tissue swelling around the stifle, synovial effusion     .
• Diagnosis: radiography   Hindlimb: radiography  .
• Treatment: conservative, surgery.
• Prognosis: good.
