Distribution
- Worldwide.
Significance
- The cause of equine squamous cell papilloma Papillomatosis .
- Two types of clinical entity are seen:
- Warts or verrucae.
- Aural plaques, papillary acanthoma or hyperplastic dermatitis.
- Equine sarcoids Sarcoid contain DNA sequences more closely related to bovine papilloma virus than to equine papilloma virus. Bovine papilloma viruses can transform equine fibroblasts.
