Introduction

  • Removal of improperly developed or undescended cryptorchid/monorchid testes.

Uses

  • Unilateral or bilateral (abdominal) cryptorchid testes removal.
  • Removal of source of hormones responsible for secondary sex characteristics and sex hormone-associated diseases (perianal adenoma, certain prostatic conditions, perineal hernias).
  • Infertility.
  • Resolution of testicular torsion.
  • Prophylaxis of neoplastic change in retained testicle(s).
