Indications

  • Useful as a carrier to enhance absorption of other drugs through skin.
  • Otitis externa Skin: otitis externa (topical anti-inflammatory).
  • Management of hemorrhagic cystitis induced by cyclophosphamide Cyclophosphamide.
  • To decrease intra-cranial pressure (IV use) following central nervous system (CNS) trauma Brain: trauma.
  • Amyloidosis Amyloidosis (efficacy unproven).
  • Management of reperfusion injury, eg following gastric/intestinal torsion Stomach: gastric dilatation / volvulus (GDV) syndrome (free radical scavenger).
  • Must be administered prior to reperfusion to be effective.
