Indications

  • Use to treat acute moderate to severe hypercalcemia when other therapies are ineffective.
  • Use for long-term therapy of chronic hypercalcemia.
    There are very few reports of the use of this drug in dogs.

Interactions

with other drugs

Antacids, calcium and iron salts

  • Reduced absorption is seen if administered with antacids, calcium and iron salts.
    Administer 2 hours apart.

Aminogylosides

  • Concurrent use may result in severe hypocalemia.
