  • Amoxicillin/Clavulanate.

Class of drug

  • Combination of amoxicillin Amoxicillin and beta-lactamase resistant penicillin antibiotic.

Description

Physical properties

  • Powder.
  • Tablets.
  • Suspension.

Storage requirements

  • In a cool and dry environment <25°C.
  • All tablets are individually wrapped in foil, moisture-resistant packaging; do not remove until to be administered.
  • Refrigerate oral suspension after reconstitution - discard if solution becomes dark or after 10 days.
  • For IV suspension, after reconstitution, chemical and physical in-use stability has been demonstrated for 2-3 hours at 25°C, or 8 hours at 5°C. From a microbiological point of view, the reconstituted and diluted solution should be used immediately.

Interactions

with other drugs

Probenecid
  • Decreases the renal tubular secretion of penicillin antibiotics and thus prolongs their blood levels.
Aminoglycosides
  • Do not mix in the same syringe as aminoglycosides.
