Introduction

  • Rowan ( Sorbus aucupariaRowan (Sorbus) is a deciduous tree, common in UK.
  • Leaves: up to 30 cm long. Arranged in pairs along mid-rib.
  • Flowers: creamy blossom (May/June). Unpleasant scent.
  • Berries:
    • Orange/red (sometimes yellow).
    • Ripe from August.
    • Remain on plant until December.
    • Contain up to 3 light-colored seeds.
