Introduction

  • About 800 species worldwide Rhododendron.
  • Grow to 90-150 cm tall.
  • Leaves:
    • Ovate, evergreen or deciduous.
    • Alternate.
    • 1-20 cm in length depending on variety.
    • Smooth and untoothed.
    • Dark green with a glossy upper surface and a dull underside.
  • Flower:
    • Bell-shaped.
    • Spring to early summer.
    • White, purple, deep rose, red, yellow, and orange.
  • Azaleas are related plant species.
