Neonatal resuscitation kit

  • A neonatal resucitation kit should be prepared for the clinic reserved for this purpose.

Equipment

  • Syringes (tuberculin).
  • Drugs (epinephrine diluted 1:9, 50% Dextrose, for fresh preparation of 5% Dextrose, vitamin K1, frozen diluted ceftiofur for thawing).
  • Oxygen sources.
  • Suction (preemie human nasal bulb syringes, dee lee suction devices).
  • Small face masks.
  • Towels (small, warmed).
  • Heat source (Baer blanket, warm water blanket, infrared lamp, warmed fluid bags).
  • Puppy box (Styrofoam) with heat support.
  • Multiple clean mosquito forceps & small scissors.
  • 3-0 absorbable suture for umbilical cords.
  • Tincture of iodine 2%.
  • Bowls for warm water baths.
  • Pediatric/neonatal stethoscope.
  • Doppler.
  • Neonatal gram scale.
