Introduction

  • Upper permanent incisors erupt rostral to temporary counterparts Teeth rostrally displaced right upper canine (104).
  • Retention of temporary tooth Teeth: retained deciduous may force canine rostrally into space for mandibular canine, hence mandibular canine will collide with maxillary canine or maxillary lateral canine causing pain.
  • May also prevent maxillary or mandibular canine erupting leading to impaction.
