Stifle: caudal cruciate insufficiency

Introduction

  • Rare on its own and if occurs, then often inolves avulsion of origin or insertion.
  • Usually with other ligamentous injuries Stifle: instability due to other ligament insufficiency - may involve avulsion of the ligament's insertion or origin.
  • Cause: traumatic injury.
  • Signs: sudden onset lameness, swollen, painful joint.
  • Diagnosis: signs, radiography, surgical visualization.
  • Treatment: conservative or surgical prothesis.
  • Prognosis: good.
