Introduction

  • Shar Pei dogs often have very tight lower lips which can extend over incisal edge of lower incisor teeth → malocclusion and dysphagia.

Pathogenesis

Timecourse

  • Hereditary lack of depth to rostral mandibular vestibule, ie mucolabial fold, causes lower lip to extend over incisal edge of lower incisor teeth.
