Etiology

Pathophysiology

  • Aggressive disseminated neoplastic condition.
  • Atypical histiocytes proliferate.
  • Histiocytes frequently phagocytose hemic cells.
  • Frequently results in anemia Anemia: overview or pancytopenia.
  • Malignant histiocytes proliferate in bone marrow, lungs, spleen, liver or lymph nodes.
  • Rapid proliferation of malignant cells in multiple organs results in rapid progression of signs.
  • Phagocytosis of hemic cells by malignant cells results in cytopenias of the peripheral blood.
