Introduction

  • Rare - seen in young Great Danes.
  • Distribution: UK, Australia, and Canada with most cases to date in the UK.
  • Signs: generalized weakness and exercise intolerance.
  • Prognosis: poor.

Pathogenesis

Pathophysiology

  • Muscle pathology → compromised muscle function → muscle atrophy → generalized weakness, exercise intolerance and stiff gait.
  • A specific mutation has not yet been identified.
