Introduction

• Dysostosis seen sporadically in Labrador Retriever, German Shepherd Dog, Springer Spaniel.
• Signs: abnormally short limbs but normal head and body; usually carpal valgus deformity, cranial bowing, metaphyseal enlargement; rarely carpal lameness.

Pathogenesis

Etiology

• Congenital.

Pathophysiology

• Congenital developmental limb deformity.

• This abnormal limb conformation rarely causes carpal lameness.
