Introduction

Distribution

  • Cats and dogs in suburban and rural areas. Normal parasite of rabbits and hares. Acquired by cats, dogs, foxes from rabbit burrows.

Significance

  • Attaches to feed on the ears of a dog or cat and causes crusts and papules, particularly around the edges of the ear.
