Introduction

General information

  • Originates from the USA; used for retrieving waterfowl.
  • Said to be a descendant from the Newfoundland Newfoundland dogs that gave rise to the Labrador.
  • Heavier set than a Labrador, this breed is similarly biddable, gentle and a good companion.
  • Best in country homes.
  • Oversized or undersized dogs are highly undesirable.
