Introduction

General information

  • Although the Parson is popularly referred to as the Jack Russell, in the UK Russells registered with the Kennel Club should always be referred to as Parson's Russells. Distinctly longer-legged than the Jack Russell Terrier Jack Russell Terrier.
  • The name is derived from a Victorian hunting parson, the Reverend John Russell.
  • May be smooth or rough coated.
  • An intelligent breed that can become destructive when bored.
  • Not suited particularly well to urban living unless given a great deal of exercise and freedom.
