Introduction

General information

  • Descended from small red and black and tan terriers from East Anglia. Probably includes bloodlines from a variety of terriers, including Yorkshire Terrier and Irish Terrier.
  • Split from the Norwich Terrier Norwich Terrier in 1964 after years of disagreement over the two types of ear carriage (prick and drop ears).
  • Norfolk and Norwich Terriers are essentially the same breed except for the ear carriage (Norfolk terrier has drop ears).
