Introduction

General information

  • Originated in Japan as a companion dog, they are thought to be a miniaturization of the Samoyed.
  • Lively, bold and tough they make very good guard dogs. Easily obedience trained they are also good with children and other dogs.
  • Quite suitable for an urban environment, the dense feathering of hair does require very regular grooming.
  • The tendency to bark has been reduced by careful breeding.
