  • Recognized in the UK, particularly as a distinctive breed from the Parson Russell Terrier Parson Russell Terrier.
  • The name is derived from a Victorian hunting parson, the Reverend John Russell.
  • May be smooth or rough coated.
  • An intelligent breed that can become destructive when bored.
  • Not suited particularly well to urban living unless given a great deal of exercise and freedom.
