  • One of several breeds from the Vendee region, and related to the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, although it is not merely a larger version.
  • Highly companionable, with a strongly developed sense of humor and a loud bark.
  • Can be prone to escaping, so the owner needs a large, well-maintained garden.
  • Requires fairly regular grooming.
