Introduction

General information

  • Native of Sicily, origins go back some 2500 years. Used for hunting rabbits, particularly in the area surrounding Mount Etna.
  • The elegant square outline, sculpted head and erect and rigid ears give the breed a very distinctive silhouette.
  • Breed has altered very little over the centuries and remains the primitive sighthound, retaining its natural hunting instincts. However, does adapt well to family life.
  • Requires very little grooming and has a lively and active temperament which requires mental stimulation and interaction with its family, as well as regular exercise to maintain its well-being.
