Introduction

General information

  • Origins unknown but is thought to come from China.
  • Originally used as a source of food in Mongolia and Manchuria, its pelt was also used for clothing.
  • Has a distinctive black tongue.
  • Very much a one person dog, can have a tendency to snap. Not always easy to obedience train, or good with children, its coat needs constant grooming.
