Introduction

General information

  • Originated in Canada having been used since ancient times as the sole means of transport for the natives of the area north of Hudson Bay.
  • Similar to Greenland Dog Greenland Dog but slightly smaller with a different ear carriage.
  • Has not taken to domestication like most other breeds, retaining its strong pack instinct, including scavenging, fighting for dominance and regarding other animals as food.
  • Primitive, aloof, independent and energetic, it can adapt to being part of a human pack with firm, constant handling.
  • Not good with children or suitable to the urban environment.
  • Requires a lot of exercise.
  • Most suitable for working.
