Introduction

General information

  • Originates from the French Plains of Beauce.
  • Also known in France by the familiar name of Bas Rouge or Red Stockings because of the deep/red markings on their legs.
  • Large, athletic and active with drop ears. Extremely trainable and loyal to their family.
  • A main breed characteristic is the large double dew-claws on the hind legs (actually real toe joints).
