Introduction

General information

  • Originated in Australia as the result of an English Collie and a local black and tan bitch called Kelpie. This is Australia's most popular working dog. It has retained its original enthusiasm and tireless love for working any type of livestock. Natural restlessness makes it unsuitable for the urban environment.
  • Copes well in either hot or cold climates and the weather resistant double coat does not need very much grooming.
  • Very responsive to obedience training, but will require a lot of exercise.
