Introduction

  • The male reproductive system comprises the spermatic cord, testes, epididymis, deferent ducts, accessory sex glands and the penis.
  • Its function is primarily to produce and to deliver spermatozoa.
  • The accessory sex glands and ductal system provide additional components of the ejaculate and aid further sperm development.
  • The penis provides a means of depositing the ejaculate in the female tract.
  • Hormones and other secretory products of the system contribute to the regulation of spermatozoa development.
