Stomach tubing cows
Somach tubing is a simple, useful technique that is used to administer fluids to cattle. A lack of confidence in performing the technique and justifiable concerns regarding fluids being delivered to the lungs, instead of the stomach, may result in this lifesaving technique being underutilised by those caring for cattle. This factsheet aims to allay some of these fears by describing the correct technique and safety measures that can be used to minimise complications.
