Hormone treatments explained
Cows “not seen bulling” or “estrus not observed” may benefit from hormonal treatment to try to induce estrus and facilitate successful insemination.
Synchronizing the estrus cycles of a large number of animals may be beneficial for timed breeding programmes. Fixed time AI programmes remove the need for estrus detection, as the cattle are served at a pre-determined time.
