Bovine viral diarrhoea

BVDv is an unfortunate name for a virus that rarely causes diarrhoea! In fact BVDv has an affinity for the reproductive system, causing infertility, abortion and deformities in calves from infected adult cows, and respiratory disease in young calves. BVDv has significant effects on the immune system, predisposing infected animals to other diseases.
