Antibiotic selection for UK/European farms
Veterinarians are aware of the importance of using antimicrobials responsibly and ideally only using antibiotics following culture (to identify the infecting bacteria or microorganism) and sensitivity (to identify the most appropriate antibiotic). However, this can take time, and in many scenarios, veterinarians may be faced with an unwell animal in need of antibiotics immediately and they must make the decision as to which antibiotic to choose.
