After graduating from Bristol University in the UK, Andy was in general practice working towards the RCVS Certificate in Surgery. He then returned to Bristol University for specialist surgical training. In 2004, Andy he was awarded the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics), and a year later the European College of Veterinary Surgeons Diploma. In 2006 has was recognised as a RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. Andy has also lectured at and was orthopaedic surgeon at The Royal Veterinary College. Since 2007 he has specialised in orthopaedic surgery while also starting and growing an ECVS programme to train the next generation of surgeons. Andy has published 50+ clinical research and review articles. In 2017 he was awarded Fellowship of the RCVS for outstanding contributions to the veterinary profession. Andy became Vice-Chair of the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association in 2022.
