Tim qualified from the University of Bristol, UK in 1980. He then worked in mixed practice before returning to Bristol as a Horserace Betting Levy Board scholar. He obtained a PhD in 1986, and then stayed at Bristol as a Wellcome Trust Lecturer in Equine Medicine. He obtained Diplomas and is a RCVS recognised specialist in both Equine Internal Medicine and Equine Soft Tissue Surgery. He is also a founding Diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine. Tim became an Associate of the ECVDI in 2011. He has been editor of EVE since 1996 and has acted as external examiner for veterinary undergraduates at the RVC and Bristol. In 2007 he became a visiting Professor at the RVC. He is on the council of BEVA, and serves on several RCVS committees/sub-committees. Tim became a partner at Bell Equine in 1995 and currently leads the hospital services and supervises the residency, intern and extern programmes.
