Gayle graduated from the University of Cambridge, UK, and then completed a rotating internship, followed by a Large Animal Internal Medicine and Critical Care residency at the RVC. Following this she completed a PhD investigating aortic valve prolapse at The University of Nottingham. She then spent 15 years at the University of Nottingham becoming professor, before moving to IVC Evidensia as Group Director of Veterinary Professional Development. She is currently Editor-In-Chief for Veterinary Medicine and Science as well as an Equine Medicine Consultant. Gayle is specialist in Large Animal Internal Medicine, and Large Animal Emergency and Critical Care, and associate diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. Her main interests are large animal cardiology, gastroenterology, imaging, and emergency and critical care.
