  1. Sagittal ultrasound image of the kidney of a Persian cat with PKD.
  2. There are multiple rounded anechoic cysts of varying sizes throughout the kidney - characterized by anechoic content, thin wall, and distal acoustic enhancement.
  3. Small hyperchoic foci adjacent to the wall of some cysts represents minerlization.
  4. The renal parenchyma between the cysts shows mild increased echogenicity and loss of corticomedullary differentiation (probably representing interstitial nephritis). In cats with PKD cysts can range in size from less than 1 m to several cm.
