Introduction

  • Removal of entire vertical ear canal.

Uses

  • Management of diseases of external ear that are confined to the vertical ear canal, eg tumors and some cases of non-responsive otitis externa Otitis externa.

Disadvantages

  • Most inflammatory conditions of the external ear are not limited solely to the vertical ear canal but encompass the entire ear canal.
