  1. Bilateral protrusion of the nictitating membranes is not an uncommon finding in cats.
  2. In some cases it has been associated with diarrhea, but in many no etiology is discovered.
  3. In dysautonomia there will be other signs of autonomic dysfunctioning dilated pupils (as in this case) or megaesophagus
