  1. Member of the spurge family.
  2. Perennial plant, grows up to 70 cm.
  3. Leathery, lanceolate leaves (upper bracts rounded and fused).
  4. Cup shaped flowers with 4 oval yellow glands around margin, each surrounded by 2 unfused brackets.
  5. All spurges contain a milky latex thought to be the main toxic principle.
  6. Severe swelling and inflammation of mouth.
  7. Salivation.
  8. Diarrhea.
