Gastrotomy: removal of esophageal furball

  1. Exploratory gastrotomy revealed the distal end of large furball that was protruding into the stomach through the cardiac sphincter.
  2. Careful traction allowed a large furball to be removed successfully from the esophagus.
  3. Further investigations were scheduled to assess the cat for gastrointestinal motility disorders.
