- Normal right kidney showing nephrogram and pyelogram (subjectively very slightly enlarged - ?compensatory hypertrophy).
- No normal left kidney seen; instead a smooth, rounded mass larger than a normal kidney and with only a rim of contrast uptake. This suggests severe hydronephrosis in which the renal parenchyma has been grossly thinned by a massively dilated pelvis.
- No evidence of pelvic trauma to cause mechanical obstruction of ureter. In this cat the cause of the unilateral hydronephrosis was not established.
- Presence of feces shows inadequate preparation of patient prior to IVU.
