  1. Developer splashes on an undeveloped radiographic film appear as black spots on the final image.
  2. This is because development starts before the film reaches the processing system and continues while the film is in the developing tank resulting in marked over-development of localized areas.
  3. Good dark room technique should minimize the risk of chemical splashing on the film.
