Eosinophilic granuloma: lip

  1. A 6 year old DSH female cat was presented with difficulty eating.
  2. A 2 cm mass on the caudodorsal tongue was biopsied and proved to be an eosinophilic granuloma.
  3. Treatment was successful using high dose prednisolone  Prednisolone 6 mg/kg BID until the mass had disappeared - about 3 weeks.
  4. An underlying cause such as an allergy to fleas/food or atopy should be searched for.
